PK Park
University of Oregon; Eugene, Oregon The new University of Oregon baseball stadium complex named PK Park is being designed and constructed in two phases. The first phase designed and administered by Cameron McCarthy includes installation of synthetic turf ball field, bullpens, player development/training areas, fencing, scoreboard, video board and temporary spectator facilities. Land Use planning for the Project was also extensive. The project site is within the Willamette River Greenway established by statewide planning Goal 15. Developments require special consideration prior to being permitted within the Greenway. Cameron McCarthy worked extensively with Eugene planning staff to obtain approval for both phases of the Project through demonstration that aspects such as open space, natural resources, aesthetic values, and critical habitats were being considered, protected, and enhanced to the greatest degree practicable. The first phase is scheduled for completion in February 2009.
