Heritage Courtyard is the heart of a retail and office site redevelopment project at Oakway Center. Preserving, revitalizing, and sensitively incorporating five mature oak trees into the new courtyard were top priorities of the project team. A revitalized landscape was created to minimize impacts to sensitive tree root zones. Low impact walkways and attractive lawn edges connect a variety of active spaces together. Sidewalks are placed in concert with retail shops, restaurants and connections beyond. Sunny spaces are enhanced with decorative brick paving and ornamental furnishings as inviting eating, sitting and gathering places. The stage stands as a focal point for entertainment, and site lighting adds visual excitement for night-time visitors. CMGS provided comprehensive services for all of the hardscape and softscape elements.
